Giving back has always been part of who I am.
A Life Built on the Value of Helping Others
I was raised by parents who believed strongly in helping others, not just in words, but in action. From an early age, I learned that if you have the ability to make a difference, you should. That belief has stayed with me throughout my life, and it’s something I am now proud to pass on to my three boys.
Over the years, I’ve taken part in a wide range of fundraising challenges, from marathons and triathlons to sponsored walks, runs and mountain climbs. Each challenge has pushed me physically and mentally, but more importantly, each one has supported causes close to my heart.
Providing Therapy Dogs for Children with Cancer
More recently, my focus has become even more personal.
I now provide therapy dogs, free of charge, to children with terminal cancer. Working alongside the Indie Rose Trust, we bring comfort, calm, and moments of joy to children and families facing unimaginable circumstances.
There is something incredibly special about the connection between a child and a dog. In hospital rooms and difficult moments, therapy dogs create light, a distraction from pain, a reason to smile, and sometimes simply a quiet presence when words aren’t enough. These dogs also provide comfort to siblings often left at home while parents spend long hours at the hospital.
Charity as a Family Value
For me, charity isn’t about recognition. It’s about responsibility. It’s about showing my children that kindness matters, action matters, and giving back is not optional — it’s a privilege.
