All my puppies are raised with a very specific socialisation plan, exceeding the guidelines set out by the Kennel Club and local authorities. my comprehensive strategies for raising my babies includes but is not limited to.
- Puppies are gradually introduced to a variety of people to build confidence and positive social skills.
- Meals are offered using different types of bowls and dishes to encourage adaptability.
- Puppies eat in a range of locations, including their crate, to promote comfort in different environments.
- Playtime takes place on a variety of surfaces such as carpet, grass, hardwood, and concrete to support sensory development.
- Puppies are given access to a wide selection of toys to encourage curiosity, confidence, and appropriate play behaviours.
- Age-appropriate challenges (such as stepping over low obstacles or moving through play tunnels) are introduced using positive reinforcement, increasing gradually as puppies grow and gain confidence.
- Gentle handling is carried out regularly, including individual toe handling, nail trimming, and ear checks, to help puppies become comfortable with routine grooming and health care.
- Puppies experience short, positive car journeys to help them adjust to travel.
- Time is spent in a crate on multiple occasions to encourage calm, positive crate training.
- Puppies are safely introduced to other dogs through controlled interactions with our own fully vaccinated dogs on site, ensuring no exposure to health risks prior to completing their own vaccination programme.
This framework will give your puppy the proper experiences and skills required to ensure a kind and enjoyable temperament, building their confidence and allowing them to settle straight in when they arrive at your door.
Here at Zoe Saunders Unique Studs and Pups I am very protective of my puppies and restrict visitors in their vulnerable early weeks, but be well assured that by the time you take home your puppy, at approximately eight weeks of age, he or she will be well-socialised, accustomed to encountering and adapting to new situations and challenges, allowing them to easily adapt to your home environment.
We encourage you to continue socialisation training by adapting the Rules for experiences a pup should have especially exposure to the outdoors as this would have been limited up until now.
What I deliver
We emphasise the importance of positive experiences with positive reinforcement for getting puppies off to an emotionally healthy start. My puppies are raised in my home with my other dogs and 3 young children and rest assured they will be well socialised in this mad house.
